Art Catz is a rural artist residency where artists can slow down, focus on personal projects and share everyday life in a warm, creative environment.
The residency
A place made for artists.
Art Catz welcomes writers, painters, musicians, performers, filmmakers, makers and anyone developing a sincere artistic project.
The atmosphere is informal and communal. Artists are free to concentrate on their practice, join activities and share moments with the people staying at the residency.

Use shared indoor and outdoor spaces for writing, painting, rehearsing, building, recording or simply thinking.

Three home-cooked meals are served every day, with time to meet other artists without pressure or obligation.
Creative freedom
Work alone or alongside other artists.
There is no fixed programme that every resident must follow. Artists can develop their own rhythm, exchange ideas, collaborate spontaneously or remain focused on an individual project.
Activities may include artistic exchanges, walks, swimming in the river, bread making, movement, dance and other experiences organised during the stay.

When suitable materials are available at Art Catz, they may be used in exchange for a voluntary, pay-what-you-can contribution. The amount is left entirely to the artist.

Travelling by car is the easiest option. For public transport, you can come from Ljubjana with train or bus to Crnomelj or from Zagreb by flixbus to Bosiljevo.
Three meals a day are included. Please mention allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements before arrival so meals can be planned accordingly.
